Turkey - The Netherlands 2012

In 2012, Turkey and the Netherlands will mark 400 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Turkije Instituut (Turkey Institute) and SICA have been tasked by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs with coordinating the Turkey – The Netherlands 2012 programme.

Framework and digital platform
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up an advisory committee and has appointed a project leader. In the coming months, the parties involved will write a mission statement; draw up a budget; and take stock of existing and potential partnerships between Dutch and Turkish artists and cultural organizations.

SICA will focus on coordinating cultural activities in Turkey. The Turkish cultural program will focus on activities in The Netherlands. The cultural collaboration between The Netherlands and Turkey is supported by a digital platform. This platform offers an index of organisations and individuals, extensive information about the cultural infrastructure of the respective countries and an up to date news and diary overview: www.culturalexchange-tr.nl
